Communities in Charge has launched its fourth funding wave, offering $56.5 million in incentives to expand EV charging access across California. This program focuses on “Community Connections” — high-traffic locations where people live, work, and gather. Wave 4 funding specifically supports multi-family housing and related properties, helping bring reliable EV charging to communities that need it most.

Save Thousands per Charger with Comunities in Charge

The Communities in Charge funding window is open through January 9, 2026 — but funds are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

This round supports Level 2 EV chargers only, with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 40 chargers per site. Eligible locations include multi-family housing and related properties anywhere in California.

Participants can receive $8,500 per charging port, plus an additional $3,500 for chargers installed in Tribal communities. Maximum grant awards reach $340,000 for standard sites and $480,000 for Tribal community projects.
